The Smith family was visiting our cousins on the DeWinne Ranch in Boerne. A couple of copperheads surprised my sister Kathy, and I remember as clearly as a 7 year old can, Bobby running out of the house, rifle in hand, and with only one shot got both snakes right between the eyes. To me Bobby stood about 8 feet tall and was the coolest person I had ever met. To this day he is still my hero.
